The most famous amusement parks

Today, the entertainment industry has become so highly developed that it no longer surprises anyone. The 20th century was a time of growth of such places - they appeared like mushrooms after rain.

Today, the most popular amusement parks are visited by so many people that they could make up an entire city. And other Disney parks match the main one.

But it would be a mistake to think that the whole sphere of entertainment is given only to Disney characters. Still, it is impossible to do without Disney in the entertainment sector.

Walt Disney World. This amusement park is not only the most popular in the world, but also the largest. It is located in Florida, 34 kilometers from Orlando. This place is called Lake Buena Vista, and the total area of the park is 121.7 square kilometers. This is no longer just a place to relax, but a whole fairytale city. It consists of four theme parks and two more water parks. Disneyland has 33 hotels, numerous restaurants and 5 golf courses.

This park opened on October 1, 1971, 5 years after the death of Walt Disney. Unfortunately, he was never able to contemplate his most grandiose creation. After all, the development of this park began during the life of the legendary animator, he himself chose for these purposes the land near Orlando in Florida. And the very first Disneyland opened back in 1955 in Anaheim, near Los Angeles. However, almost all of its visitors lived in the west of the United States, and the densely populated east was left without lucrative entertainment.

That is why the idea of creating a park in Florida seemed very reasonable, and besides, there were always many tourists there. Through shell companies and subsidiaries, Disney bought up quite a lot of land and announced plans for a grandiose project. Unfortunately, he was never able to see the discoveries, dying in December 1966. For the project to take place, the cartoonist's brother and president of The Walt Disney Company, Roy Disney, even postponed his retirement.

Years of active construction led to the opening in 1971 of the first part of the park - the "Magic Kingdom". Two months later, Roy Disney also died of a stroke. In 1982, Epcot theme park opened, which transported the guest into the world of the future and human scientific achievements. In 1989, Disney's Hollywood Studios appeared, and in 1998, Animal Kingdom.

Today the Magic Kingdom is the most visited amusement park in the world. In 2011, it was visited by 16.9 million tourists, which exceeds the indicators of other competitors. And there is a "Magic Kingdom" inside a kind of ring. Its center is the fabulous "Cinderella's Castle", which is the symbol of the Disney company itself and its cartoons. The park consists of several thematic zones, each of which includes certain attractions.

Disneyland Paris. There is a large amusement park from Disney in Europe. It is located in the Parisian suburb of Marne-la-Valais, which is 32 kilometers from the capital. The park was opened on April 12, 1992, and its area is 1,943 hectares. There are two theme parks here - Disneyland Park, opened in 1992, and Walt Disney Park-studio, which appeared 10 years later. There is a Disney entertainment village, which includes nightclubs, discos, restaurants and boutiques. She works all night. In the park you can play golf and tennis, even work out at the Manchester United children's football school. Disneyland has its own business and residential districts, as well as a train station.

The park offers guests accommodation in hotels of various categories: On the territory of the park, guests can stay in hotels of various categories: Disneyland, New York, Newport Bay Club, Sequoia Lodge, Cheyenne, Santa Fe, Davy Crocket Ranch, Kyriad Hotel, Mytravel's Explorers Hotel, Holiday Inn, Movenpick Dreamcastle. And not far from here is the village of Val Durop, which has a fairly large shopping center, an aquarium and the Elise Val d'Europe hotel. Disneyland Paris has an average of 12.5 million visitors a year.

Disneyland in Tokyo. This name is one of the parts of the huge Disney amusement park located in the suburb of Tokyo, Urayasu. This was the first park of the company, opened by it outside America, and it happened back in 1983. The second part of the recreation area is Tokyo DisneySea theme park. It is also full of tourists. Overall, this place of entertainment is the third in the number of tourists, behind only parks in Florida and Anaheim. It is important to note that both theme parks and the resort itself are not owned by Disney. The license is owned by the Oriental Land Company, so Disneyland is also the only one in the world not owned by the company.

Initially, the resort had the only theme park - Disneyland, in fact, it was the only one there. Over time, DisneySea has already appeared. The park covers an area of 465 thousand square meters, its main entrance goes directly to the Maihama and Tokyo Disneyland train stations. And the design of the park borrowed a lot from buildings in Florida and California, which existed already by the 80s. There are seven thematic zones, four of which repeat similar ones in other Disneylands - "Adventureland", "Westernland", "Tommorowland" and "Fantasyland".

Tokyo DisneySea opened in September 2001. During the first three days of its existence, it was visited by 10 million guests. This is not surprising, given how large-scale and spectacular the attractions are. Many more adults come here to relax than it happens in the classic Disneyland. The park has also become the most expensive thematic in the world - $ 4 billion was spent on its construction. The marine entertainment port consists of 4 ports at once. From the Mediterranean port originate the American Port, the Lost River Delta, the Mermaid Lagoon, the Arabian Coast, the Mysterious Island and Port Discovery.

Disneyland in Anaheim. This park is the very first of all Disneylands in the world. It opened in the California city of Anaheim, which is part of the Greater Los Angeles. People first came to this park back in 1955. Local Disneyland became the only embodiment of Walt Disney's dream of a large theme park, which the cartoonist saw during his lifetime. The park was conceived back in the 30s and 40s, but it was only possible to take up it in the 50s, when the company was able to purchase 65 hectares of land in Anaheim.

The construction lasted for a relatively short time, about two years. Today, the history of the famous Disneyland is more than 50 years old. This park has undergone many renovations and improvements, but nevertheless it remains the second most visited park in the world. But in terms of the total number of guests who have been here, he has no equal. Disneyland Anaheim has already received over 600 million visitors. It was on its basis that other Disney amusement parks were built. There are 8 thematic zones, some of which have already become classic for other Disneylands.

Hong Kong Disneyland. And this amusement park from Disney is not only the youngest of all his name, but also the smallest. Nevertheless, the entire amusement park located on Lantau Island is one of the largest in Asia. Many travelers with children come here for new experiences. It opened in September 2005, occupying an area of 126 hectares around a huge natural lake. Hong Kong spent $ 1.8 billion to build such an amusement park. Guests can stay here in one of two hotels - in "Hong Kong Disneyland" or "Disney Hollywood Hotel".

It is curious that although Disneyland was created based on American cartoons, it was not without Chinese flavor. So, Alice from Wonderland sings her songs in Chinese, and in cafes and restaurants they offer mainly Chinese national dishes. And the park itself was built to observe the feng shui traditions. His face is turned to the sea, and he himself lies between the mountain and the hills, which creates the illusion of security.

Legoland. This park became the first and largest Legoland built on the planet. And it arose, which is not surprising, in the neighborhood of the original Lego factory in the Danish town of Billund. They built such an unusual amusement park back in 1968. About one and a half million guests come here annually. While this is not so much relative to other entertainment venues, the figure still inspires respect. And it doesn't stop being interesting because of this. And it was created from as many as 45 million Lego bricks. Since the construction set has become legendary for a long time, the park is loved not only by adults, but also by children who once fiddled with this construction set.

Danish Legoland is divided into several thematic zones, each of which is designed for children of a certain age. So, Duplo Land was created for the smallest. And Minilandia is a whole country of Lego blocks, where even houses are copies of existing real buildings. Lego boats float along the canals, and the streets are filled with toy cars and little men. In the park, you can take part in an exciting Lego safari in striped Lego cars, wading through the Lego jungle.

Legoland has all the infrastructure necessary to receive guests - there are 7 good restaurants and Burger House fast food. Not without stores, where you can buy the legendary constructor. In general, there are many interesting places in Legoland; it is not for nothing that many tourists from all over Europe come here.

Port Aventura. This amusement park is located in the Spanish city of Salou, which is not far from Barcelona. Every year about 3 million people come here to relax, which makes this place the most visited among all entertainment in Europe. In Europe, according to this indicator, Aventura ranks sixth. In 1995, 40 attractions were built here on an area of 17 hectares. The park itself consists directly of them, the Aventura Aquatic water park, four hotels, beach clubs and a golf course. In the very center there is a large lake with an area of 3 hectares.

The entire park is divided into 6 thematic zones, a walk along which is akin to a real round-the-world trip, which can be done here in just one day. There was a place here for the Mediterranean, the Wild West, China, Mexico, Polynesia and the children's country "Sesame". Visitors to the park are offered about 90 bright and colorful shows, which can be admired throughout the day, not only in theaters, but also right on the streets.

Mirabilandia. This amusement park is one of the largest in Europe, second only to the French Disneyland and the Spanish Port Aventura. The area of the whole Mirabilandia is 750 thousand square meters, and it is located between the Italian cities of Rimini and Ravenna. In this country of entertainment, there are as many as 37 of the most interesting and modern attractions, including roller coasters.

But there is also a circus, a cinema with 3D, shows and performances are constantly held in the park. The show of automobile stuntmen won the special love of the audience, and the performances of the Russian theater are held right on the ice. And at night, guests can see a laser show and colorful fireworks.

In 2009, a unique attraction was launched in Mirabilandia - a roller coaster that accelerates to a speed of 120 km / h in 2 seconds. On the Niagara water slide, you can dive into the water in a trolley at full speed, tourists are not recommended to take electronics with them. And you can have a snack in small restaurants, where pizza, traditional for this country, will be prepared right in front of your eyes.

Europa-park. This park holds the second place in popularity in Europe, second only to Disneyland Paris. And this place is located in the German state of Baden-Württemberg, not far from the town of Rust and the border with France. About 4.5 million people visit Europa Park every year. Of course, it is far from the numbers of Disneyland in Florida, but it must be borne in mind that this entertainment place does not work all year round.

And the park was opened back in 1975. It was originally a kind of exhibition of the achievements of the Mack family, which has been producing vehicles since 1780. That is why there are ten roller coasters on the territory of the complex. There are other various attractions here, entertainment events and shows are also constantly held. The park can be safely called a real resort. After all, here, like Disneyland, many hotels have been opened in the surrounding area.

And Europa-Park stands out primarily for its concept. The fact is that its thematic zones are miniature copies of European countries. For children, a special tour of the city of gnomes is held, where the kids will visit the enchanted forest, see the witch's house and the castle of the sleeping princess. Younger visitors will visit Adventureland with an unusual and exciting route through the jungle. Among the "African" landscapes you can even take a boat ride. Another interesting area is the Viking World.

In total, 10 countries and Scandinavia are represented in the park as a whole. France, Germany, Spain, Russia, England, Holland, Greece, Portugal, Switzerland and Italy are among the “lucky ones”. Little Russia has been recreated at the expense of classic wooden huts, next to which there is a copy of the Mir station, the Lada race track and the Euro-world roller coaster. Many interesting attractions are located in the zones of other states. So, miniature France has sheltered the highest roller coaster in Europe "Silver Star". In Scandinavia, among the landscapes that look like fjords, you can find an entire river for rafting.

Comedy del Arte will be shown in Italy, Greece offers to ride the Poseidon water slide. In Germany, you will find a whole fleet of vintage cars, which also drive children. And in Spain there is a slide called "Columbus's Boat", a ride on which will give an understanding of how people feel during a storm. If the guest is tormented by hunger, then in any of the countries you can find an excellent institution with national cuisine, where you can eat deliciously.

Tivoli Park. This amusement park is located in Copenhagen, the capital of Denmark. It opened back in 1843, it is the second oldest object of its kind on the planet. Tivoli Park occupies an area of 8 hectares, it is one of the three most visited entertainment parks in Europe, second only to Disneyland Paris and Europa Park. And this interesting place was founded by the Danish officer Georg Carstensen. Legend has it that he convinced King Christian VII to allocate land for a park with the words: "When people are having fun, they do not think about politics."

From the very beginning of the opening, theatrical performances have been held here, as well as grounds for orchestras. Not without cafes and restaurants. The park is constantly evolving, as if confirming the words of its founder that "Tivoli will never be finished." However, it remains true to tradition. And the glory of Tivoli was brought by several excellent attractions. So, on the Demon roller coaster, the trolleys reach a speed of 80 km / h.

It is here that the world's tallest carousel "Star Flyer" is located, the height of which is 80 meters. Circling at high speed high above the ground, it seems as if you are flying over the entire city. And cultural programs have been preserved - the amazing Pantomime Theater operates in the park, there is its own concert hall and various entertainment events are constantly held.

Efteling Park. This theme park opened back in 1952. However, even today it is one of the most popular places for mass recreation in Europe. Efteling is located in the Dutch province of North Brabant, near the city of Tilburg. The total area of the park is as much as 650 thousand square meters. And every year about 4 million visitors come here.

The park was originally dedicated to old European fairy tales and their heroes. But over time, Efteling has transformed into a modern and full-fledged amusement park with indispensable attractions, such as roller coasters. However, the fabulous component is still quite important here. Efteling is a lot like Disneyland. This is the same full-fledged resort where you can play golf. It has its own radio station and other amenities of modern infrastructure. It should be noted that at one time the creators of Disneyland Paris even consulted with representatives of Efteling on how best to adapt the style of the American park to European culture.

So Efteling can be considered a European park. This can be seen especially clearly in its very first thematic part - "The Fairy Forest". It is easy to see the plots of the works of the Brothers Grimm, Charles Perrault and Andersen. Throughout its history, the park has been replenished with new and interesting attractions. One of the last to appear here was "The Flying Dutchman", which connected parts of the water slide with descents and ascents and an indoor route through the kingdom of ghosts. Efteling provides an excellent opportunity to have fun among fairytale characters, as well as appreciate all the advantages of a truly European amusement park.

Everland Park. This park is the largest in South Korea, located near the city of Yongin, a suburb of Seoul. It also includes a resort, and all this splendor belongs to the Samsung company. Everland is consistently among the top-rated amusement parks. So, in 2010, it was visited by 6.9 million people. While the main attractions seem to be common for such places, the water park and zoo are rare. The complex is conditionally divided into 5 thematic zones. These are World's Fair, American Adventures, Magical Land, European Adventures, and Zootopia.

The World's Fair is a great place to grab something to eat and fill your bag with gifts, souvenirs and postcards. In "European Adventures" you can personally get acquainted with the classical architecture of the Old World, being thousands of kilometers away. There is a beautiful flower garden with play areas, a T-Express roller coaster, and a Mystery Mansion attraction for ghost hunting.

American Adventure is a Wild Smell experience, and the attractions are tailored to suit. Part of the "Magic Land" is "Aesop's Village", where the characters of the fairy tales of the famous Greek fabulist live. There is an interesting "Ferris wheel". Zootopia is obviously about animals. There is a whole small zoo with sea lions, polar bears, penguins, tigers and other wildlife. On the Amazon Express attraction, you can raft down a rough river. The amusement park is open all year round, it is a great option for an unforgettable family vacation for all tourists visiting South Korea.
